Sky recently announced the winners for their Footprint Fund competition. This competition gave five companies the opportunity to win £1 million in advertising fees.
The judges included advertising legend Sir John Hegarty, Su-Mei Thompson, CEO of the Media Trust, Juliet Davenport, CEO of Good Energy, Lindsey Clay CEO Thinkbox, Stephen Woodford, chair of the Advertising Association, Jo Coombes, founder of AdGreen, Gideon Spanier, UK editor in chief of Campaign and Karen Blackett OBE Country Manager at WPP & GroupM UK CEO.
The panel also includes senior Sky representation from Debbie Klein, Sky’s Group Chief Marketing, Corporate Affairs and People Officer, Group Director of Bigger Picture, Fiona Ball and new Sky Media Managing Director Tim Pearson.
The winners were Olio, We Flo, Ovo Energy, Pura and Path Financial.
Olio
Olio is an app which is used to share food and in turn reduce food waste, this is done by connecting people with extra food which customers who want the food. The food must be edible; it can be raw or cooked, sealed or open.
We Flo
We Flo is an organic female sanitary brand who only uses organic bamboo, organic cotton and planet friendly materials e.g. biodegradable and compostable plant cellulose in their products. 5% of their profits also goes to charities that are fighting period poverty and FGM.
Ovo Energy
Ovo launched to make energy cheaper, greener and simpler in 2009, and since then have planted more than a million trees.
Pura
Pura is a baby brand which uses anti-allergy, organic ingredients and sustainable, biodegradable materials in all its products.
Path financial
Path financial is an investment company that only invests in eco friendly companies weather its power generation, transportation, sustainable agriculture.
Each of the businesses were judged on their creativity, possible impact and sustainable credibility. All these businesses are great, and are worthy winners for this competition and will play a vital role in helping the planet, both now and in the future.
